CANUS’s Safety Excellence Continued

CANUS EMR

CANUS EMR

CANUS continues their record of safety excellence through 2014 and moving into 2015.  CANUS continues to keep their Experience Modification Rate (EMR aka “Ex Mod”) well below the standard 1.0.  CANUS Continues to leverage their training facilities to front load employees with the tools and information required to perform their work scopes in as safe and efficient a manner as possible.  Employees of CANUS Corporation know that safety is a primary concern during all project activities.  CANUS Corporation realizes that to achieve zero accidents, every employee must be committed to knowing and using safe working practices.  This commitment also includes maintenance of a drug-free workplace and worker support for our no-drugs policy.

Along with hands on training and Operator Qualification training offered by CANUS to employees CANUS has also lead the way for Utility Contractors by the use of innovative online web based training (WBT) modules in industry specific topics.  The WBT that CANUS has spear headed allows for training any time/anywhere and limits the costs associated with mobilizing the entirety of  a Utility Contractor’s workforce to interact with a trainer.  CANUS is currently in the process of producing further client and industry specific WBT modules for CANUS employees along with other Utility Contractors and Client Employees.  Want to find out more?  Contact us.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT: SCADA Install

CANUS Corporation recently completed the modernization of a major public utility’s Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system monitoring all subsurface equipment within a certain communication loop.  CANUS assembled and then installed multiple sensor units, battery backup units, Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Programmable logic controller (PLCs), transceivers, switches, wiring, etc.  After the assembly and installation of the SCADA system CANUS also provided testing services to ensure proper system wide function and integration functionality.  The SCADA system allows for remote real time monitoring from a centralized human machine interface (HMI) and allows the utility to gain insights through the data collected.  In light of their findings and the control over the subsurface equipment the utility is empowered to more effectively provide service to their end users.  The CANUS team completed this scope of work on time and under budget with ZERO incidents or injuries.
