CANUS is currently providing inspection services for our clients’ hydrostatic testing functions to comply with Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plans (PSEP).  Hydrotesting of pipelines is performed to expose defective materials that have missed prior detection, expose possible leaks and serve as a final validation of the integrity of the constructed system.  Buried high pressure gas pipelines are tested for strength by pressurizing them to a maximum operating pressure (MAOP).

The process includes excavating both ends of the desired section to be hydro tested, cut and cap any taps coming off the section to be tested then filling the section of pipeline with water to pressurize it to the prescribed pressure level for the prescribed duration, if the tested section is deemed acceptable the water is removed and placed in a baker tank for proper environmental dumping, the line is cleaned, scrubbed, etc. taps are re-installed bringing the section of pipeline back to operable conditions.

CANUS is providing welding inspection services, stand by transmission inspection services, and coating inspection services to support this ongoing scope of work.
